.Alonso - Drove his heart out, took a lot...My list
.Alonso - Drove his heart out, took a lot of the car than it should have gave him. Consistent and actually deserved the championship.
.Raikkonen - Very impressive comeback season. Finished every race in the points except China, and a great win in Abu Dhabi.
.Hamilton - As always, super quick and flat out. Just a bit unlucky with race incidents and penalties this year. Next year will be interesting.
.Vettel - Another fast Red Bull helped him this year, not as dominant as last year, even though with the impressive four consecutive wins at the end of the season, those races were Red Bull territory.
.Webber - Not a very consistent year in terms of scoring high. Often seem half awake in races. 2 wins though and they were both some of the best in his career.
.Button - Good win at Australia, surprising bad run of races for the next few months, until a brilliant victory at Spa. Solid performance in the second half of the season.
.Massa - Shocking start, but recovered well and at some stages was matching Alonso or even faster than him. Well deserved podium finishes at Suzuka and Interlagos.
.Perez - Not consistent but almost won in Sepang and was the fastest at Monza. Will win his first race next year with Mclaren.
.Schumacher - Best F1 year since his comeback in terms of pace. We saw moments of vintage Schumi - the top 3 qualifying results, the 'pole' in Monaco and podium in Valencia. Incredible bad luck with Mercedes car at the start of the year. Few silly errors but should of stay for at least one more year.
.Rosberg - Finally won his first race in China, pure dominance all weekend. Mercedes car was far too slow in the second half of the season but surely next year things will get better.

Why would Grosjean be on the list? He had pace, but the crashing incidents, there were way too much and he deserved the ban.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-36826921779079083632012-12-09T19:02:09.422+00:002012-12-09T19:02:09.422+00:00True, but the Merc wasn't a good race day car ...True, but the Merc wasn't a good race day car (apart from in China and Monaco, when Rosberg managed first and second respectively) given how it chewed tyres. And while Perez's three podium runs were excellent, I did wonder how much of it was him and how much was the Sauber's peculiarly good touch on its tyres when the circumstances aligned.Graham Keillohhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11514708469215327323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-73697823315522999482012-12-09T18:34:10.294+00:002012-12-09T18:34:10.294+00:00Yeah, but Perez probably drove more excellent race...Yeah, but Perez probably drove more excellent races than Nico - in a car that was much slower than the Merc.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-77215084855037286682012-12-09T15:03:12.038+00:002012-12-09T15:03:12.038+00:00No. Perez was in the mix of drivers from about sev...No. Perez was in the mix of drivers from about seventh place downwards who were all very close to each other. I'm writing some thoughts on the drivers that didn't get in the top 10 which will be up soon, but a synopsis of my view of Perez's season was that he had three excellent races, a couple more fairly good ones, a couple more where he was unlucky, but elsewhere he was mediocre, and of course he ended the season by crashing everywhere. Essentially, taking the season as a whole and not just the high points, he didn't make it in.Graham Keillohhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11514708469215327323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-73132105562779658262012-12-09T14:19:20.515+00:002012-12-09T14:19:20.515+00:00No Perez? But I've always taken the view when I judge drivers that there has to be some premium on fighting at the front and for wins, as the pressure situation etc is totally different there. Plus, in both Webber's and Button's cases I thought they were very good aside from their performance trough.Graham Keillohhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11514708469215327323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-58125036024660289732012-12-09T12:23:46.006+00:002012-12-09T12:23:46.006+00:00Everyone can have their opinion, and leaving a com...Everyone can have their opinion, and leaving a comment as anounymous sounds a bit lame.

However, I admit Button et Webber look overrated to me.Benjaminnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3682262344930040012.post-63975153581745172962012-12-09T12:02:43.655+00:002012-12-09T12:02:43.655+00:00What, the list's order, the text, or both?
